A proud mom and her teen daughter showing their kitchen skills. The mom is cutting fresh tomatoes while the daughter gives a thumbs up, indicating their approval of the meal they're preparing. The two are standing side by side, smiling and happy to be cooking together. This image captures the bond and love between a mother and daughter and their shared love of cooking and creating together.

With this course you get to let go of your fears and enjoy the amazing teenagers your children have become.

A father and daughter bonding while baking cupcakes. The dad is stirring the batter while the daughter looks on with excitement. Both are wearing aprons and have big smiles, showing the love and connection they share in this special moment.

What kind of parent would you be if you had no fears?

Every day thousands of parents are getting into fights and battles with their teens over video games, social media, and how they spend their time. Our kids interests are the lightning rods that attract our biggest worries. Suddenly it's not just a harmless video game - it's proof that they're wasting their time and potential!  We are scared that the choices our teens are making now will ruin their chances for a wonderful future. Our worries lead us to exerting control, making rules, which then create resentment. This course helps you examine and break fear-based parenting habits, to help you help your teenager as they launch into adulthood!

It would be ridiculous of me to claim that the Connect with Courage parenting course will take away all of your fears.

But what you get after 10 weeks of going through this course is the closest you're going to get.

How do I know if I'm helping or hurting my teenager?

How do I show my teenager I believe in them?

How do I help my anxious teen make friends?

How do I push them to try something I know they'll love?

How do I help them get better sleep or wake up on time so they're at their best?

How do I handle it when they yell, cry, or say mean things to me or their siblings?

How do I let them make their own decisions if they aren't showing they're grown up enough yet?

How do I help them decide on goals or a direction?

How do I push them if they seem stuck or indecisive?

How do I know when it's "normal" teen angst or a red flag?

How do I let them take risks and keep them safe?

How do you help your teens grow into healthy, autonomous adults while also keeping them safe and happy at the same time?

How do I know if I'll benefit from this course?

You'll be a good fit if you're a parent to a teen or tween, and:

  • You're worried, but you aren't sure how to help.
  • Have they become quieter? Their life is more online than you're comfortable with? You feel more disconnected than you did when they were younger?
  • They're worried, and aren't sure what to do.
  • Maybe they've told you they need something to change but are having trouble. Maybe they've expressed anxiety about growing up or being more social.

If you're conflicted about when to step in because you're afraid you'll do more harm than good - then this course will be helpful for you.

I'm looking for a cohort of loving, caring parents who want to respect their teenager's adulting process, cut through their own fear to CONNECT WITH COURAGE and have the best relationship you can have with your kid during these tumultuous, poignant, vibrant, scary, wonderful teen years.

What Do We Do Each Week?

10 Video Calls

Members-only discord community

Hands on activity and individualized support

Week 3: Conscious Choices

Why does my teen trigger me so much?!

This week focuses on looking at our reactive moments and fears -- and, dare I say it...the baggage we've accumulated a long the way.

We'll do a powerful visual exercise that will help you make conscious choices about responding to your teenager.

Week 4: Poetry & Percentages

How will my teen be ok when they spend all their time....??

We will examine TIME and the role it plays in our parenting. We'll try our hand at a creative writing exercise that will help us look at our big decisions along with beautiful little moments alike.

Your homework will ask you to look even deeper into time as an important resource.

Week 5: Roles & Responsibilities

Will my teenager be able to live independently?

This week focuses on the roles and responsibilities, division of labor, and the expectations we have for everyone in the family. We'll do a fun art project to look at our own role in their adulting and your homework will ask you to clarify their skills and strengths.

Week 6: Money, Honey

Can I trust my teen with money?

This week focuses on the big-time important topic of money. How do finances and choices around budgets factor into your teen's growth?

You'll do a fancy-pants therapy technique called a "genogram" with a money twist and look at generations of stories around value.

Week 7: Partnerships

Who is my teen becoming?

This week focuses on how your family can work in partnership with each other to meet the needs of the whole household.

We'll do another creative writing exercise and explore roles, responsibilities and how to communicate expectations.

Week 8: Risk & Well-Being

How do I keep my teen safe??

This week focuses on talking about those interests your teenagers have that might be scary, risky, or dangerous! What do you all need to support them in their most worrisome endeavors? How can you let them have freedom while maintaining safety? How do you keep communication open so that they listen to your advice?

We'll do a drawing activity that will reassure you and give you many tools to pull from, and the homework will help you put a face to your fears.

Week 9: Meta Level Reflection

How do I put this all together?

This week focuses on a few big picture things - like how we learn, positive psychology, the benefits of leisure, and more. We will also spend time thinking about our own growth.

We'll do one of my favorite activities - a connection web to help you use your teen's niche interests as a point of connection for the two of you.

Week 10: Play with Purpose

How do I want to parent?

This week focuses on wrapping up the course and setting purposeful (and playful!) intentions for the future! We'll create a game that you can play with your family to help you keep the things you've learned during the last 10 weeks present in the most fun way possible. I want you to enjoy enjoying your kids!

  • What if I can't make it to all of the calls?

Don't worry - the concept component will be recorded, so you'll still get access to the main idea of the day. You'll also be kept in the loop with emails throughout the week and your homework assignment.

  • What is your refund policy?

For full refund (minus $75 processing fee) cancel up to 2 weeks before course start date.

    No refunds after that point.

However - if you need to withdraw from the course before we have had 5 sessions, I am happy to put 1/2 of your payment amount towards the next cohort.

  • What age range is this program for?

To be clear - the class itself is for the PARENTS.

It's most useful for parents who have kids in the tween/teen range who are starting to be worried (or worry you) about their "adulting" process. It can absolutely be useful for parents of younger kids as well, I've even heard that the concepts of this course have helped marriages and adult siblings! However, the focus is on the unique phase of parenting that is teenager-hood.

  • How long do I get access to this program?

You'll be able to download and save the concept videos and at-home exercises and worksheets - so you get to keep those forever! The group calls will end, but you'll then get access to an on-going alumni group if you want to participate! (You probably will - community connection is important!)

Any other questions?
